Who Are We?

North Metro is a chorus of passionate women who love to sing and compete!  We are members of a larger organization, Sweet Adelines International, with over 21,000 women singers.

We are all about sharing the gift of harmony with others and changing lives through our music and dance!  We sing to bring joy to others, to touch hearts, and to give hope.

Members are everyday women ranging in ages from "teens" to "eighties" who come from all walks of life, and our 120 plus members gather weekly from all over Ontario and northern New York to rehearse and socialize.  We join for the music but soon learn that we have a supportive caring family to help us celebrate our personal milestones or to help us face our life situations.

Chartered in 1967, the chorus has been delighting audiences for over 50 years. Generally, our music is sung in "a cappella" four-part harmony, primarily in the barbershop style, using choreography to enhance our performance.

Our director, Erin Howden, is a dynamic and talented musical leader and choreographer.  She continually opens new doors for our musical and personal growth and achievements and leads us to be better women and singers.  Erin followed in the footsteps of her mother, June Dale, who was North Metros director for over 45 years before her.  With them at our helm, we are proud winners of numerous regional and five international gold medals.

Check us out at one of our rehearsals.  To visit us, contact our membership chair:  membership@northmetrochorus.com.

St Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Church, Banquet Hall
